Legal
Terms & Conditions
These terms describe expected use of qardo across hosted, beta, and self-hosted deployments. A deployment operator may publish stricter or more specific terms for its own instance.
Using qardo
qardo helps users store, organize, scan, display, export, and share loyalty cards, membership cards, gift cards, passes, barcode credentials, and related notes or images. Features depend on the deployment, browser support, account state, and operator configuration.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for credentials, account activity, and recovery material. Use strong passwords, keep recovery kits safe, complete verification steps where required, and enable available security controls such as device unlock or two-factor authentication where supported.
Local-only data risk
Local-only mode stores cards in the current browser or device only. Clearing browser storage, losing the device, changing browsers, or uninstalling the app may permanently remove local-only cards. Signing in later does not automatically migrate local-only data unless qardo explicitly offers that flow.
Acceptable use
- Do not use qardo to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malware, abuse service limits, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Do not upload or share content you do not have the right to store, process, or share.
- Do not use qardo as a financial institution, identity issuer, payment processor, emergency service, or replacement for legally required originals.
Your content
You keep the rights you have in the content you add. qardo processes card data, notes, images, and metadata only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, subject to the Privacy Policy and deployment configuration.
Plans, billing, and third-party providers
Paid plans, billing, entitlements, family features, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing apply only where enabled by the hosted operator. Subscription renewals, cancellation timing, taxes, and refund handling are governed by the checkout flow, the hosted operator, and the applicable payment provider where those features are live. Payment providers may apply their own terms and privacy notices.
Deployment-gated family groups and minors
If family or household sharing is enabled, the person who creates or manages the group is responsible for invitations, role changes, and household use of shared cards. Adults are responsible for obtaining any required guardian consent before creating, managing, or sharing data for a child or minor household member.
Availability and changes
qardo may change, add, remove, or limit features over time, including storage, sync, recovery, security, export, and billing behavior. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law, and compatibility with every browser, device, barcode, import format, or provider is not guaranteed.
Export, deletion, and retention
Export and deletion tools are provided where supported. Account deletion can include a recovery window before hosted-account records are purged, and browser-local cleanup only affects the browser or device where deletion completes. Some audit, security, backup, billing, or legal records may remain for limited periods when required to operate, secure, or comply with the service.
Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended or terminated to address security risk, abuse, legal compliance, service integrity, or material breach of these terms. You may stop using qardo at any time and request account deletion where supported.
Liability and governing terms
To the extent permitted by law, qardo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Governing law and venue may be specified by the hosted operator or by separate written terms for a deployment.
Updates
qardo may update these terms as features, operators, or legal requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the site, app, repository, or operator support channel.
